During the 19th round of the fight, the crowd rushed into the ring, injuring Tom Molineaux’s hand in the process and separating the fighters (who were locked in a hold at the time). Due to the referee’s confusion, Tom Cribb was allowed to continue despite him possibly not returning to the arena in time after the crowd had been cleared. Molineaux fought bravely despite a possibly broken hand for the remaining 16 rounds but was finally defeated in the 35th.\n\nIn the second fight, Molineaux and Cribb were almost a stone lighter (which means Molineaux was far below his normal weight at 185 pounds (at most). During this fight, Molineaux again proved to be one of Cribb’s toughest challenges but was out-fought, Cribb breaking his jaw and knocking him out in the 11th round.","Tom Molineaux vs. Tom Cribb",{"_uid":676,"answer":677,"question":678,"component":670},"d40e3d80-ba4a-441f-997f-0b70e214db04","Molineaux was deservedly inducted into the Boxing Hall of Fame in 1997, and in 2010 also took his place in the Bare Knuckle Hall of Fame. The reasons for this integration are often ugly to think about (many saw it as a struggle for race superiority at the time) but regardless of the reasons behind it boxing suddenly offered a way out of the institutional poverty held against people of color for so long. And fighters like Johnson and Louis often invested back into their communities and pushed the boundaries of what a black man was ‘allowed’ to do at the time.","What were the racial divides of early boxing?",{"name":534,"created_at":535,"published_at":536,"updated_at":537,"id":538,"uuid":539,"content":684,"slug":534,"full_slug":553,"sort_by_date":48,"position":554,"tag_list":696,"is_startpage":9,"parent_id":57,"meta_data":48,"group_id":556,"first_published_at":557,"release_id":48,"lang":60,"path":48,"alternates":697,"default_full_slug":48,"translated_slugs":48,"_stopResolving":62},{"_uid":541,"name":542,"category":685,"component":39,"meta_info":693,"block_image":694,"cover_image":695,"internal_notes":7},{"name":468,"created_at":469,"published_at":470,"updated_at":471,"id":472,"uuid":473,"content":686,"slug":468,"full_slug":570,"sort_by_date":48,"position":86,"tag_list":691,"is_startpage":9,"parent_id":135,"meta_data":48,"group_id":572,"first_published_at":573,"release_id":48,"lang":60,"path":48,"alternates":692,"default_full_slug":48,"translated_slugs":48,"_stopResolving":62},{"_uid":475,"name":476,"topics":687,"component":118,"meta_info":688,"meta_title":7,"block_image":689,"cover_image":690,"internal_notes":7,"meta_description":7},[484,512,539],{"_uid":560,"title":561,"plugin":43,"description":562},{"id":564,"alt":565,"name":7,"focus":48,"title":565,"filename":566,"copyright":7,"fieldtype":50},{"id":568,"alt":565,"name":7,"focus":48,"title":565,"filename":569,"copyright":7,"fieldtype":50},[],[],{"_uid":544,"title":545,"plugin":43,"description":546},{"id":548,"alt":542,"name":7,"focus":48,"title":542,"filename":549,"copyright":7,"fieldtype":50},{"id":551,"alt":542,"name":7,"focus":48,"title":542,"filename":552,"copyright":7,"fieldtype":50},[],[],{"name":699,"created_at":700,"published_at":701,"updated_at":702,"id":703,"uuid":704,"content":705,"slug":714,"full_slug":715,"sort_by_date":48,"position":528,"tag_list":716,"is_startpage":9,"parent_id":717,"meta_data":48,"group_id":718,"first_published_at":719,"release_id":48,"lang":60,"path":48,"alternates":720,"default_full_slug":48,"translated_slugs":48,"_stopResolving":62},"Iain Mackenzie","2021-09-10T15:42:24.159Z","2022-02-08T23:25:24.310Z","2022-02-08T23:25:24.333Z",71000029,"efb09565-d096-488b-8f7f-7e80e6045b1d",{"bio":706,"_uid":707,"name":699,"photo":708,"component":712,"social_link_tiktok":7,"social_link_twitter":7,"social_link_website":7,"social_link_youtube":7,"social_link_facebook":7,"social_link_linkedin":713,"social_link_instagram":7,"social_link_pinterest":7},"Iain Mackenzie is a licensed amateur boxer. The Motivation\n\nThe music. The instructors. The energy. Those elements are contagious. Even though the instructors can’t see me, I know Flo, Tommy, Hitman, etc. would be disappointed if I just stopped and quit. I honestly have kept going because of an instructor talking to me through my TV – sounds stupid saying it out loud, but you will know what I mean if you take a few classes.\n\n2. The Workouts.\n\nI actually got my heavy bag a few weeks before I decided to try Fightcamp. I figured, boxing is a great idea and I’ve done it before, so do I really need someone to guide me through workouts when I know what to do?\n\nWhen I was on my own, I’d do some light jump rope, situps or planks, then I’d hit the bag for a few rounds and call it a day. It felt pretty good. But then, I did some Fightcamp workouts. I was dripping sweat and exhausted.\n\nBeing a somewhat experienced boxer and generally in pretty good shape, I tried jumping straight to a 45-min intermediate workout, but quickly scaled back to work my way back up to those. The workouts are tough and the mix of boxing stuff and ground stuff is what makes it so good. On my own, I tend to just hit the bag over and over again and end up doing way less core/legs. I needed someone to tell me to do that or I’d slack.\n\n3. The Tracking.\n\nDid I mention I’m ultra competitive? Being able to hit a punch target or beat my last score is motivating. Nowadays, it almost feels like if I don’t track my workout, then it doesn’t count. I’m excited to see even more features on historic workouts and tracking improvement – and I am sure the FightCamp team is working on some great stuff.\n\n4. The Convenience\n\nI work from home and share a car with my wife, so it is nice and easy to be able to turn on a workout anytime. I can throw on a 15 or 30-minute workout during my lunch hour. Now, there are no excuses for not making it to the gym because I don't have to go there to workout.","What are four (4) reasons FightCamp works?",{"name":534,"created_at":535,"published_at":536,"updated_at":537,"id":538,"uuid":539,"content":1496,"slug":534,"full_slug":553,"sort_by_date":48,"position":554,"tag_list":1508,"is_startpage":9,"parent_id":57,"meta_data":48,"group_id":556,"first_published_at":557,"release_id":48,"lang":60,"path":48,"alternates":1509,"default_full_slug":48,"translated_slugs":48,"_stopResolving":62},{"_uid":541,"name":542,"category":1497,"component":39,"meta_info":1505,"block_image":1506,"cover_image":1507,"internal_notes":7},{"name":468,"created_at":469,"published_at":470,"updated_at":471,"id":472,"uuid":473,"content":1498,"slug":468,"full_slug":570,"sort_by_date":48,"position":86,"tag_list":1503,"is_startpage":9,"parent_id":135,"meta_data":48,"group_id":572,"first_published_at":573,"release_id":48,"lang":60,"path":48,"alternates":1504,"default_full_slug":48,"translated_slugs":48,"_stopResolving":62},{"_uid":475,"name":476,"topics":1499,"component":118,"meta_info":1500,"meta_title":7,"block_image":1501,"cover_image":1502,"internal_notes":7,"meta_description":7},[484,512,539],{"_uid":560,"title":561,"plugin":43,"description":562},{"id":564,"alt":565,"name":7,"focus":48,"title":565,"filename":566,"copyright":7,"fieldtype":50},{"id":568,"alt":565,"name":7,"focus":48,"title":565,"filename":569,"copyright":7,"fieldtype":50},[],[],{"_uid":544,"title":545,"plugin":43,"description":546},{"id":548,"alt":542,"name":7,"focus":48,"title":542,"filename":549,"copyright":7,"fieldtype":50},{"id":551,"alt":542,"name":7,"focus":48,"title":542,"filename":552,"copyright":7,"fieldtype":50},[],[],"7b09efb4-fee4-4672-b973-73c566c0cf92",{"type":722,"content":1512},[1513,1522,1527,1531,1535,1549,1553,1557,1561,1565,1569,1574,1579,1583,1588,1592,1596,1600,1605,1609,1614,1618,1622,1627,1639],{"type":725,"content":1514},[1515,1517],{"text":1516,"type":729},"FightCamp was created with the idea of elevating the at-home workout experience and making the best of an in-studio boxing workout accessible to anyone, anywhere. She turned pro in Canada in 1975 but was limited by state restrictions on female boxing in the U.S. Trimiar applied for a boxing license in her home state of New York only to be denied.\n\n“I slept, ate, ran boxing. These included an appearance in the 2004 Oscar-winning film Million Dollar Baby and an award-winning documentary in 2000 about her life called Shadow Boxers.\n\nOn top of Rijker’s extraordinary career in the ring, she speaks four languages fluently and hosts lectures and seminars about reaching one’s full potential, with a focus on staying in peak physical condition.\n\nLucia Rijker was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2020.","Who is Lucia Rijker?",{"_uid":1705,"answer":1706,"question":1707,"component":670},"1ef342ad-2c5c-4da3-b6ce-eea3f237a5fe","Christy Martin began her fighting career winning three consecutive titles in ‘Toughwoman’ contests. She launched her professional boxing career with a six-round draw against Angela Buchanan in 1989, winning the rematch one month later with a KO in round two. Christy went on to win 19 consecutive matches.\n\nChristy, nicknamed the “Coal Miners Daughter,” started training with boxing coach and husband James Martin in 1991. After the couple moved to Florida, Christy became the first woman to sign with Don King, and debuted in Las Vegas, NV, in 1994. Two years later she rose to fame as the lightweight women’s champion of the world, earning her a place on the Sports Illustrated cover and an immediate pay increase from $15,000 to $150,000 per fight.\n\nChristy’s stardom continued until her first KO loss to Laila Ali in 2003, followed by a string of more losses and festering personal turmoil that would soon come to a head.\n\n“Boxing was the best therapy I could find,” Salters told Sports Illustrated in 2016. “That’s where I felt the safest.”\n\nIn 2010, Christy was stabbed repeatedly and shot by her husband James Martin after years of abuse. The gunshot missed her heart by only 4 inches. Against all odds, Christy miraculously survived. James was convicted of attempted 2nd-degree murder and sentenced to 25 years in prison.\n\nAfter everything she had gone through, Christy wasn’t ready to give up boxing yet, and 193 days after almost losing her life she re-entered the ring only to have her trainer stop the fight when it was clear her hand was broken. She subsequently suffered a stroke, officially ending her career in 2012. She had to fight another long road to recovery, eventually taking up work as a substitute teacher and aiding military veterans in finding employment.\n\nChristy spoke on Capitol Hill in support of the Protecting Domestic Violence and Stalking Victims Act in 2013. “If that’s why I had to go through what I did, to help save other people,” she says, “that’s O.K. with me. The dramatized series stars Trevante Rhodes (Moonlight) as Tyson and Harvey Keitel (Reservoir Dogs, National Treasure) as famed boxing manager and trainer Constantine \"Cus\" D'Amato, and offers viewers a personal look at Tyson’s storied life in and out of the boxing ring, including many of the scandals that “The Baddest Man on the Planet” weathered following his retirement from sports. \n\nThe series is entering into a canon of Tyson stories that includes two memoirs and a one-man documentary show, Undisputed Truth, directed by Spike Lee.
